- Can I do an internship in Shanghai and how do I apply?
Yes! Students will have access to a wide variety of non-credit internship and volunteer opportunities through the NYU Shanghai Career Development Center (CDC). About a month before arrival, you will receive access to NYU Shanghai CareerNet, the CDC’s online database that gives direct access to search for jobs and internships. Because of the processing time needed in Shanghai to finalize internship placements and secure the correct visa, we strongly encourage you to start the application process before arrival.
The application process will vary by employer (some may even request a Skype interview before arrival). Students of all language levels are encouraged to search for an internship or volunteer opportunity. Please keep in mind internships are unpaid.
Besides internships, you can network and gain career related skills through attending career-related workshops, speaker sessions and company visits.
