For NYU students based in New York and visiting students from other U.S. based institutions:
All students studying with NYU Global Programs are enrolled in international health coverage through GeoBlue. Later in December you will receive an email from NYU Student Insurance/GeoBlue with instructions about creating your GeoBlue profile so you can print your health insurance card.
GeoBlue Enrollment emails will only be sent to your NYU email address, so if you have not yet set up your NYU email account, please do so asap. Do NOT delete this email! Keep an eye on your spam folder, as they sometimes end up there. We will let you know in an upcoming blog post when GeoBlue emails should have been received.
In addition to GeoBlue, all students are expected to maintain valid domestic health insurance over the course of their semester away. Students usually maintain the domestic insurance coverage that is offered through either their home institution or their parent/guardian’s insurance plan. GeoBlue is valid only for the dates of your study away program.
For students based at NYU Abu Dhabi:
You can expect to receive separate communications from your respective Health Centers as part of the regular annual enrollment process that will included your international health insurance enrollment.
